Karl-Anthony Towns out indefinitely with a meniscus tear in left knee

Minnesota Timberwolves star big man Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to be out indefinitely after suffering a meniscus tear in his left knee, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

This is a huge blow to the Timberwolves, who are in the midst of one of their best seasons in franchise history. They’re currently 43-19, tied with the OKC Thunder in leading a packed Western Conference.

According to Charania’s sources, Towns has been “gathering further opinions on the injury over the past 24 hours as he continues looking into treatment options to determine the best course of action for his injury.”

The 2024 All-Star, who’s averaging 22.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists a game this year, will not be with the team in their upcoming six-game road trip that includes playoff teams in the Cavaliers, Lakers and Clippers.
