To everyone's surprise, the Boston Celtics traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, and their new big three just got bigger ambitions. Brown was traded for Paul George and multiple draft picks, and he is now looking to further strengthen the Sixers' roster with a bid for LeBron James.

Brown is set to form a new trio with center Joel Embiid and guard Tyrese Maxey. However, it seems like having three stars on one team isn't enough for Brown. During a recent Twitch livestream on July 9, Brown asked YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed to help him recruit James.

"So, you gotta tell LeBron, 'You gotta pull up, man. Pull up to Philly.'"

While Speed did ask James to come to Philadelphia, it's clear that he isn't up to date with the NBA this summer. He noted that James could play with Paul George if he signed with the Sixers. Little does he know that Brown was traded for George.

At 41 and in his 24th season, LeBron's free agency has become the offseason's biggest story—five teams are pulling all strings to land the four-time champion.

King James averaged 20.9 ppg in the 2025 regular season, while adding 7.2 assists and 6.2 rebounds. He clearly still has it.

For now, James has yet to meet in person with any of the teams making offers. According to reports, LeBron is letting his agent, Rich Paul, handle business. NBA insider Shams Charania recently reported that teams have submitted voice memos to Paul, which the agent sends over to James.

While other teams are sending voice notes, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry went public with his bid.

While Jaylen Brown joked, Steph Curry made his serious pitch for LeBron James

Many teams are trying to recruit LeBron James. Even the superstars on each team have expressed interest in playing alongside the King.

While Jaylen Brown humorously attempted to bring James to the Philadelphia 76ers during IShowSpeed's stream, Warriors' point guard Stephen Curry made his pitch at a press conference for the 2026 American Century Championship.

"I don’t have a percentage. It’s kind of up to him. I feel like any place he’d call and say, ‘I want to play there,’ you’d move mountains to make it happen. I know we’re in that boat as well, so the pitch is we want to play good basketball, be around people that know how to play the game, hopefully raise our floor on our competitiveness this year."

The 76ers and Warriors are among the five teams that are currently frontrunners in the LeBron sweepstakes. The other teams include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, recently traded to the Heat, had a cryptic reaction when Twitch streamer N3on asked him if James was going to the Heat. Antetokounmpo simply shrugged his shoulders, neither confirming nor denying the rumors.

Meanwhile, the Cavs' guard Donovan Mitchell signed a 4-year extension with Cleveland, making it a secure team for James. Cleveland is the team that many people want to see James finish his career in.

As for the Timberwolves, none of the star players have spoken their minds regarding a potential team-up with James. However, the Timberwolves' front office insists LeBron can compete for the 2027 championship alongside Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball.

This offseason is turning out to be one of the most interesting in terms of trades and signings, and James' 2026 signing will give one of the five teams under consideration a major boost towards the 2027 championship game.
