Madison Square Garden saw two celebrations in quick succession. First, it was the wild New York Knicks fans who basked in glory as their team ended a five-decade-long wait to win the championship. And now, weeks later, it was pop sensation Taylor Swift tying the knot with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce at the same venue. Knicks' Josh Hart, however, insisted that, despite claims, he was part of only one of those celebrations.

Initially, it was reported that the Knicks' starting five was invited to the wedding, which the whole world had its eyes on. But Hart revealed that those reports were false. And it was all thanks to Jeremy Sochan's plea online.

Sochan, who was traded from the San Antonio Spurs in 2026, was nowhere near the starting five, averaging about seven minutes per game this season. So, he asked Hart via X if he could be his "plus one" to the Swift-Kelce wedding.

Hart decided to break Sochan's heart, along with the hearts of fans who thought the title-winning starting five would be at the highly anticipated event, by replying to Sochan's post. "Lol bro, this is fake news," he said.

Effectively, this put an end to fans' hopes of seeing Hart, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, and Mikal Bridges at the wedding.

The Knicks have one of the most stacked collections of celebrity fans in the NBA. There are the usual faces, such as Spike Lee, Timothée Chalamet, Mariska Hargitay, and Tracy Morgan. Seeing them courtside and interacting with Knicks players is extremely common.

Then, there are celebrities whom many fans don't know are Knicks supporters. Swift falls into this category. Although she has been called out by many for not "being a true fan," she admitted as early as 2014, during an interview with TIME, that she was a supporter of the iconic franchise. She revealed that she began supporting the Knicks after moving to New York City.

But, of course, it's one thing to be a fan and another to go the extra step of inviting five NBA players whom you don't know personally to the biggest day of your life. Swift chose the former.

The 36-year-old hasn't been spotted attending many games at the MSG in the past, but was in the stands with Kelce when her side made the most historic comeback in an NBA Finals game ever.

What Taylor Swift witnessed in Game 4 of the NBA Finals

The NBA Finals have produced some of the most iconic individual and team performances in league history. After all, it's the biggest stage in professional basketball. This year, the New York Knicks added their own entry to that list.

In Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the Knicks lost to the San Antonio Spurs in front of their home fans. So, in response, they decided to win the next game in style, with Swift in attendance.

During that game, the Spurs led by as many as 29 points in the first half, leaving Madison Square Garden stunned. But when the players returned from the locker room for the third quarter, the Knicks looked like a completely different team. Led by Brunson's 36 points, New York rallied to win 107-106.

It was the biggest comeback in any NBA Finals game in league history and gave the Knicks a 3-1 series lead. They won the next game in San Antonio to seal the series 4-1 and can now prepare to hang a championship banner for the first time in 53 years.
