Some people are arguing over whether LeBron James should join the New York Knicks. The camp saying "no" believes it will be seen as a weak move or completely mess up the team's established chemistry.
Meanwhile, the group that's in favor thinks it would be a great way to end James' career. That side also picked up another argument point, following the massive trades that completely reshaped the Eastern Conference landscape.
These two sides were well represented in the latest episode of 'Game Over' with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul, as the co-hosts ended up siding with opposing ideologies while looking at a whiteboard detailing realistic destinations for James.
Kellerman retracted an earlier statement in which he said that James joining the 2026 champs would be perceived negatively.
Since Jaylen Brown was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers and Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, Kellerman sees the value in James coming to New York, and the team might also be on board with the idea since the perception won't be as bad as it would have been before these trades.
Paul, however, offered a counterpoint.
"I think it's difficult, right, because the last thing you want to do is mess up something like that," Paul said. "The Knicks has a good thing going. If the Knicks hadn't won, there would be no board."
Kellerman then also pointed out that the Knicks are also being conservative financially and avoiding the second apron. As such, they're only targeting players whom they can sign for the veteran minimum.
Paul also spoke about what James brings to a team, saying that it doesn't matter if a team just won a title and still has its best player. James has a higher value, which means he's also judged differently.
Finally, Kellerman asked whether the Knicks had called to inquire about James, and Paul confirmed that it was indeed the case.
Which Teams Are Realistic Destinations for LeBron James According to Rich Paul
Earlier in the same episode of Game Over, Rich Paul broke down which teams were realistic destinations for LeBron James with a whiteboard.
Per Paul, the Philadelphia 76ers are at the top of the list. With the newly acquired Jaylen Brown, and the young backcourt duo of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.
Then, Paul mentioned the Miami Heat, where James has a chance to play in a stacked front court next to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.
Aside from those two, Paul also mentioned the Denver Nuggets and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In Denver, he would get to play with an already established star duo of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic and a loaded supporting cast headlined by Aaron Gordon.
When it comes to his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, he would form a stacked starting five with James Harden, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Donovan Mitchell.
The Golden State Warriors were also named, but they're not quite as high on the list as the aforementioned teams.
Of course, Paul's list is not completely indicative of what will happen this summer with James.
