Carmelo: 'I think I’ve found a home' in Portland

After going unsigned for over one year, Carmelo Anthony proved that he can still be a signifcant contributor in the NBA during his stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The 36-year-old signed a one-year deal worth the veteran's minimum, and then he proceeded to average 15.4 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 43 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range.

Now, Anthony will once again be an unrestricted free agent in October. After Portland was eliminated from the playoffs by the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, Anthony was asked about his future and where he'll land next.

"I pray that it can be Portland. Honestly, I think I've found a home in Portland," Anthony told reporters. "I got comfortable with the organization. I got comfortable with the guys on the team, and they got comfortable with me. At this point in my career, I do think that's the best fit for me, the best situation, especially having this experience now - kind of just getting my feet wet, coming in and just being who I am and staying true to myself. I really hope that it can be Portland at the end of the day - that we give ourselves a chance to keep this team together, get guys healthy and get another run at it."

The Blazers have $110,941,475 committed in guaranteed salaries for the 2020-21 season, with Anthony, Hassan Whiteside and Rodney Hood (among others) hitting free agency.

Portland finished the season with a 35-39 record, which earned them the eighth-seed in the Western Conference (following their win in the play-in game versus the Memphis Grizzlies).
