The NBA announced today that NBA Draft Combine 2020 has been reformatted to be conducted both in NBA team markets and virtually, taking place in phases beginning Sept. 28 and continuing through early to mid-November. The reimagined Combine will continue to provide NBA teams with player evaluation opportunities during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

ANALYSIS:
After deciding a date for the NBA
draft (November 18th), figuring out a date for the combine was next
in line as the combine is an essential part of the pre-draft
process. The NBA draft combine usually happens over the course of
five days in a highly intense environment with scouts from every
team evaluating players. This new format will give teams about
three weeks to look over prospects and help them gather information
ahead of the 2020 draft. It
will be interesting to see how the virtual workouts impact players'
draft stock compared to in-market workouts. The combine is expected
to end just prior to the draft.
