Memphis' Jalen Duren hires agent, enters 2022 NBA Draft

Memphis' Jalen Duren hires agent, enters 2022 NBA Draft

Memphis center Jalen Duren announced that he's entering the 2022 NBA Draft as expected.

"My plan is to sign with agent Chafie Fields of Wasserman and enter the NBA draft," Duren told ESPN.

In his lone collegiate season, Duren averaged 12.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 25.3 minutes per game, while shooting 59.7% from the field.

Matt Babcock,'s Senior NBA Draft Analyst, currently has Duren projected to go No. 9 overall to the San Antonio Spurs in his latest 2022 NBA Mock Draft.

Here is Babcock's scouting report of Duren:

"After reclassifying to the high school class of 2021, Jalen Duren will be one of the youngest players in the 2022 NBA Draft at just 18.6 years old on draft day. Although he is young, he's shown that he can dominate the interior at a high level by utilizing his strength and physicality," Babcock wrote. "Standing at 6-foot-11, weighing in at a chiseled 250 pounds and possessing a 7-foot-5 wingspan, Duren impacts the game as both a play-finisher and rim protector. He is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft."
