Bronny James expected to stay in the 2024 NBA Draft

LeBron ‘Bronny’ James Jr. is expected to stay in the 2024 NBA Draft circle and is attending the draft combine, according to separate reports by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

After leaving his name out there to be eligible in this year’s draft and being in the NCAA’s transfer portal to seek out options, the younger James would now try his chances to get into the league this year.

The USC freshman has been fully cleared to play in the league as part of the Fitness to Play panel and will participate in all pre-draft activities starting with the Draft Combine this week.

The eldest son of the great LeBron James has had a whirlwind start to his basketball career. Just over a year ago, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease and had cardiac arrest in one of USC’s practices. He was then cleared to play for USC later in January this year, and he averaged modest numbers of 4 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds per game, shooting 36% from the field.

After completing his pre-draft activities at the Draft Combine, James will have until May 29 to decide whether to stay in the draft or return to college.

ANALYSIS: Bronny joining the draft could move some front offices around the league, especially how his potential landing spot could be monitored by his father LeBron. The elder LeBron has previously noted his desire to play alongside Bronny, and whether or not it would be with the Lakers or somewhere else remains to be seen.
