The Celtics have declared Al Horford (lower back soreness) and Jayson Tatum (right patella tendinopathy) out when they play the Milwaukee Bucks tonight, according to Keith Smith.
Celtics injury report for tonight vs Bucks:
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) April 7, 2022
Al Horford - Low Back Soreness - OUT
Marcus Smart - Right Ankle Sprain - PROBABLE
Nik Stauskas - Right Ankle Sprain - OUT
Jayson Tatum - Right Patella Tendinopathy - OUT
Robert Williams - Left Knee Meniscal Tear - OUT
ANALYSIS: Considering whoever wins this game basically get the second seed in the playoffs, sidelining Horford and Tatum seems pretty telling as to how they're going to approach the postseason. Above all else, they want full health (sans Timelord) when the postseason comes around even if it comes at the cost of seeding. Even if means only having homecourt for one playoff series.
