Timberwolves pursuing centers including Hawks' Clint Capela

The Minnesota Timberwolves have discussed trades around veteran centers, including Atlanta Hawks big man Clint Capela, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

It remains to be seen whether Atlanta is willing to part ways with Capela or what their asking price would be. Last season, Capela averaged 11.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 assists, while shooting 61.3% from the field. The 28-year-old led the NBA in rebounds per game (14.3) during the 2020-21 season.

Last season, the Timberwolves won 46 games and ended their 13-season playoff drought. Now, the team is looking to upgrade their roster in order to take the next step forward as a franchise.

Perhaps Minnesota is a team to watch on the trade market in the coming weeks.
