Rajon Rondo, Sam Merrill unlikely to be with Memphis for 2021-22 season

The Grizzlies will have to find a way to get players off the roster, potentially by buying players out, trading or waiving them. Will Rajon Rondo be part of the team at the season’s beginning? Probably not. What about Sam Merrill? Seems unlikely.

ANALYSIS: Rondo was acquired by the Grizzlies, along with Patrick Beverley (who has since been dealt to Minnesota), in a trade that sent Eric Bledsoe to the Clippers. Merrill, meanwhile, was the return in a deal sending Grayson Allen to Milwaukee. Both are entering the last years of their respective contracts.
