Nebraska's Bryce McGowens hires agent, declares for 2022 NBA Draft

Nebraska freshman Bryce McGowens is declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft, he told ESPN on Monday.

The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 16.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 31 games with the Cornhuskers. The 19-year-old will now hire an agent and try to turn his NBA dream into reality.

"I am planning on forgoing my college eligibility and hiring agent Drew Gross of Roc Nation Sports," McGowens told ESPN.

Matt Babcock, BasketballNews.com's Sr. NBA Draft Analyst, believes that McGowens could potentially be a first-round pick in this year's draft.

"At 6-foot-7, Bryce McGowens has excellent length for a guard," Babcock said. "He handles the ball exceptionally well for a player his size and is a versatile scorer who can create. He certainly needs to add strength and become more efficient. However, McGowens possesses a significant amount of upside and has a legitimate chance to be selected in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft."

McGowens is currently the 25th-ranked player on BasketballNews.com's 2022 NBA Draft Big Board.
