76ers close to hiring Ty Lue as head coach

The Philadelphia 76ers are close to naming Tyronn Lue the team's next head coach, per Jon Johnson of Sports Radio 94WIP.

ANALYSIS: If the Sixers do, in fact, hire Lue, he will return to the front of the bench for the first time since late 2018 with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This past season, he's been one of Doc Rivers' top assistants with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Lue brings a championship pedigree stemming from his time with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in Cleveland. He is known for his ability to connect with players, but especially standing firm and coaching them when they need it. The Sixers need a culture change, and Lue could be the right man for the job.
