Giannis meets with Bucks ownership

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo met with ownership to discuss the future of the franchise, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Last season’s MVP and this year’s Defensive Player of the Year met privately with co-owner Marc Lasry, sources said. The meeting came on the same day the 6-foot-11 star unfollowed hundreds on Twitter and Instagram, including the Bucks’ team account and his teammates’ accounts.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Lasry told Giannis that Milwaukee is willing to spend into the luxury tax to improve the roster. Both parties will meet again once the reigning MVP's vacation ends.

ANALYSIS: The reigning MVP reportedly met privately with co-owner Marc Lasry, but the outcome of those discussions is unknown at the time.

The Bucks seem committed to building a championship team around Giannis going forward and this situation will be closely monitored. Milwaukee can offer Antetokounmpo a super-max extension this offseason, but it remains to be seen if Giannis would sign it.
