ANALYSIS: Wojnarowski also added that Ingram declined a smaller contract last season in the hopes that his 2019-20 season would justify a hefty payday. It did just that; Ingram was named to the Western Conference All-Star team for the first time in his career. The 23-year-old averaged career highs in points (23.8), rebounds (6.1) and assists per game (4.2) while shooting a career-best 39.1 percent from long range.

Ingram has asserted himself as a franchise centerpiece for the Pelicans right alongside Zion Williamson, and the two will play a key role in the future success of the franchise.
