LeBron James expected to miss "multiple weeks" with foot injury

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is expected to miss "multiple weeks" reports Shams Charania of The Athletic after suffereing a right foot injury in Sunday's win against the Dallas Mavericks.

James will likely get multiple opinions regarding the injury but the team is bracing for him to miss an extended period of time.

The Lakers star suffered the injury during the third quarter of their 111-108 comeback win over the Mavericks. Despite the injury, James played through it and finished the game with his team fighting to get into the Play-In Tournament. The Lakers are now 29-32 and sit in the 12th spot in the Western Conference.

L.A. has gone 4-1 since the trade deadline where it remade nearly half its roster, bringing in D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura and Mo Bamba. But losing James – who is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists this season – will severely hurt their chances of making the post-season.
