Lakers finalize deal to hire David Fizdale as assistant coach

The Lakers are finalizing a deal to hire former Knicks and Grizzlies coach David Fizdale as an assistant coach, sources tell ESPN.

ANALYSIS: Fizdale spent two seasons apiece has head coach of the Grizzlies and Knicks, compiling a 71-134 record across those four seasons. Prior to that, he spent 13 years as an assistant on the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks coaching staffs.
