Lakers' Anthony Davis to return Wednesday night

Barring any setback during his pregame warmup, Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis will return to the lineup Wednesday versus the San Antonio Spurs, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Davis has missed the last 5 1/2 weeks after suffering a fractured bone spur and stress reaction in his right foot. McMenamin adds that Davis will be on a 20-24 minute restriction.

The Lakers have gone 10-10 since his absence including Tuesday night's 133-115 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers are 22-26 on the season and sit in the 13th spot in the crowded Western Conference but are only 1.5 games out of the Play-In Tournament.

The team desperately needed to get its All-Star big man back who, prior to his injury, averaged 27.4 points and 2.1 blocks along with career bests in rebounds (12.1 per game) and field goal percentage (59.4%).
