Jokic vs. Giannis: Serbia defeats Greece in FIBA World Cup Qualifier

Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo squared off on Thursday, as Serbia faced Greece in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers. 

The battle of back-to-back NBA MVPs did not disappoint, as both superstars filled the stat sheet and the game went to overtime. In the end, Jokic's Serbia squad came out on top, 100-94.

Jokic finished with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, while shooting 68.8% from the field and 66.7% from three-point range.

Antetokounmpo contributed 40 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals on .560/.286/.714 shooting splits (breaking the European-Qualifiers scoring record).

Ognjen Jaramaz scored 15 points for Serbia, while Vladimir Lucic chipped in 14 points.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Greece's Tyler Dorsey had 16 points, including a clutch corner three to force overtime.

A record crowd of 19,150 showed up to watch the Jokic-Antetokounmpo showdown.

Next up, Serbia will face Turkey on Sunday, while Greece takes on Belgium.
