Hawks fire head coach Nate McMillan

The Atlanta Hawks have dismissed head coach Nate McMillan per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Woj adds that assistant coach Joe Prunty will be the interim coach.

The Hawks have had an up and down season and are currently eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 29-30 record. McMillan had a 99-80 record across three seasons as the Hawks' head coach.

The team will immediately begin a search for a new head coach according to Wojnarowski with a focus on player development, accountability and getting their offense and defense into league's Top 10.

Former Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder will be on the top of their wish list with Milwaukee Bucks assistant Charles Lee and Golden State Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson as others that are expected to be considered for the position.
