Dejounte Murray suspended after 'inappropriate contact' with ref

Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray has been suspended one game without pay for "making inappropriate contact with and verbally abusing a game official," it was announced today by NBA executive vice president and head of basketball operations Joe Dumars.

The incident occurred at the conclusion of the Hawks’ 129-121 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series on April 23 at State Farm Arena.  

Murray will serve his suspension on April 25 when the Hawks visit the Celtics for Game 5 of the series at TD Garden. The Celtics currently lead the series 3-1 over the Hawks.

This season, Murray averaged 20.5 points, 6.1 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 threes and 1.5 steals, while shooting 46.4% from the field, 34.4% from three-point range and 83.2% from the free-throw line.

During the first four playoff games, Murray has averaged 25.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 3.3 threes and 2.3 steals, while shooting 45.6% from the field, 39.4% from three and 100% from the free-throw line.
