Clippers' Kawhi Leonard cleared for 5-on-5 play

LA Clippers team president Lawrence Frank stated on Thursday that forward Kawhi Leonard has been cleared for 5-on-5 play. Leonard missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL.

"He wants to participate in everything," added Frank. "Organizationally, we're going to be cautious. It's going to be a step by step approach.

"We're not gonna get into predictions with what he will do, won't do, but he wants to do everything. It's just too early to predict."

The five-time All-Star had surgery to repair a partial tear in his right ACL on July 13, 2021 and has benen working towards a return since then. During the 2020-21 season with the Clippers, he averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists.
