The Charlotte Hornets are signing guard Isaiah Thomas to a new contract for the remainder of the season, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. After previously signing 10-day contracts with the Lakers and Mavericks, Thomas finds home in Charlotte where he's averaged 10 points and has assumed a leadership role. The Hornets are 7-2 since signing Thomas.

ANALYSIS: It appears Christmas came early in 2022. Thomas being signed for the rest of the season, even if it's nowhere close to the role he once had five years ago, is a win for everyone who rooted for him. Even better, Charlotte's not keeping him around for purely sentimental reasons.
The Hornets have benefited from having him around, and they recognize as much. Here's to hoping we never have to see IT fight for 10-day contracts again.
