Celtics aim to avoid luxury tax with trade deadline looming

The Boston Celtics are in the midst of a disappointing 2021-22 season. Not in the mix as legitimate title contenders, how will Boston approach Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

Well, according to The Action Network's Matt Moore, their primary goal is to dip below the luxury tax threshold.

Moore relayed that the Celtics have two offers currently on the table for Dennis Schroder coming from the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks. Both teams are currently pushing for an NBA Finals appearance, so Schroder would definitely help in the scoring department.

Marcus Smart has also been brought up as a potential target for multiple teams around the Association, but so far Boston isn't budging on the versatile guard.
