Cavs still asking for 'a lot' in any trade involving Larry Nance Jr.

Despite receiving compelling offers for [Larry Nance Jr.] in the past, the Cavs haven’t gotten the one they believe would make them better. Sources maintain it would take a lot to deal him. Then again, the situation is a bit different than it was ahead of the 2020-21 regular season -- or even the trade deadline, when they rebuffed an package that included multiple late first-round picks.

ANALYSIS: Nance Jr. has been with the Cavs since the 2017-18 season, establishing himself as a versatile defender and leader on the team. The 28-year-old averaged 9.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in 35 games (27 starts) in 2020-21. Cleveland has a gluttony of bigs at the moment, with No. 3 overall pick Evan Mobley joining Nance Jr., Kevin Love and Jarrett Allen in the frontcourt, among others.
