ANALYSIS: The Cavaliers are in desperate need of another point guard since losing Ricky Rubio for the season due to a torn ACL, and the trade could be completed as soon as tomorrow.

Rondo's best days in the league are behind him, but he should be able to fill in for Rubio as a pass-first do-it-all veteran presence.

The 15-year pro has averaged 3.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game over 18 contests for the Lakers this season.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs will send back veteran wing Denzel Valentine in the trade, who the Lakers are expected to waive to free up a roster spot.
