Bane leads Morant-less Grizzlies past banged-up Mavs, 104-88

DALLAS (AP) — Desmond Bane scored 23 points and the Memphis Grizzlies won a second consecutive game against the Mavericks, beating Dallas 104-88 on Monday night.

Dallas was without its two All-Stars, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who sat with injuries.

Ja Morant remained away from the Grizzlies because of his issues off the court. Morant checked himself into a a counseling program in Florida and there's currently no timetable for him to return to the team, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Monday evening.

Rookie David Roddy scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting for Memphis.

Mavs rookie Jaden Hardy scored 28 points, as Dallas dropped under .500 for the first time since December. Josh Green was the only other Mavericks player to score double figures with 23 points.
