"Steph needs to be planning his exit strategy from the Golden State Warriors, (but) not this year," Perkins said on NBA Today. "The way that the West is stacked up, they're gonna be a play-in tournament team again. ... I want Steph Curry to retire in a Warrior uniform, but I also want to watch Steph Curry play meaningful basketball. ... With this roster and what they have, he's not gonna be there anytime soon."

Despite how fans and analysts view Curry's situation, it doesn't seem like he's leaving anytime soon. Steph is currently signed to a one-year deal worth $62.6 million. However, he will be eligible for an extension this coming August. Sources report that Curry and the Warriors are likely to agree to an extension when he becomes eligible.

NBA Insider Doesn't See Stephen Curry Getting Traded

While there has been growing speculation that Stephen Curry is getting frustrated with his situation in Golden State, NBA insider Nick Friedell doesn't believe that the Warriors star is truly upset.

In a recent interview with Friedell on 95.7 The Game, the insider claims that Curry isn't mad at the Warriors organization to the point that he would ask for a trade. To him, it's simply because if Steph were really angry, he would've already asked for a ticket out of the Bay Area.

"I just don't buy that Steph Curry is so angry," Friedell said. "He wants to try and make it work (in Golden State). I don't buy that there's some whole soap opera going on behind the scenes."

As mentioned earlier, Curry will soon be eligible for a contract extension and is likely to agree to a deal with the Warriors. The question now would be, where do the Warriors go from there after once again failing to build a contending roster in the Western Conference?
