"I Swear": Brian Windhorst Reveals Conversations With NBA Team Owners Amid LeBron James-Cavaliers Speculation

There have been various questionable sources that claim to know what LeBron James is planning to do. Aside from that, there have been so many things people believe have been leaked that betray the secrecy about where he's signing next.

However, ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst just extinguished the fire regarding all these speculations with his recent appearance on 'First Take.' According to him, no one among the league's executives knows what James is planning.

"I promise you, I swear to all the people out there," Windhorst said. "I know that there's this unquenchable desire to know. I know that the league is somewhat frozen right now, I know that there's an assumption about things."

"I am talking to players and the teams involved, I am talking to owners, I'm talking to everybody in the league all day long," he continued. "Nobody knows. I know it's an unsatisfactory answer."

He said that James is keeping things to himself right now, and no one else knows what he's planning to do next.

Windhorst also addressed the supposed leaks, claiming the 41-year-old star is joining the Miami Heat. Rumors that started after the organization's social media team mistakenly posted a livestream for an introductory press conference in case he decided to join them.

Per Windhorst, James won't hold one this time, following the unkept promises from the massive press conference he held when he first joined the Heat in 2010.

The ESPN insider noted that he didn't hold a press conference when he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers or when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers, and said that if he were to hold one now, it would be on his personal channel.

The Cleveland Cavaliers remain one of the leading potential destinations for LeBron James during this offseason.

Some fans believe this coming season, his 24th as a pro, will be his last. As such, many think he'll spend it at home in Ohio.

James, a native of Akron, was drafted by the Cavs in 2003. Not only is it a team located in his home state, but it was also where he began his NBA career.

It was also the place where he redeemed himself from being the league's villain when he returned and delivered on his promise of winning a title for the franchise. If he were to come back, it would be an extremely satisfying narrative.

Because of that, rumors continue to swirl, saying he's coming back to Cleveland. Rumors that claim to have reliable sources within or adjacent to the league.

However, Brian Windhorst directly challenged these rumors and these sources while on air with ESPN Cleveland.

He basically said the same thing that he said on First Take: that no one within the league knows what James is thinking, what he's planning, and most especially, where he's going to sign.

Everyone in the NBA is pretty much clueless, except James himself. As such, any source for whatever rumor is rendered unreliable.

At this point, it seems fans will only really find out where he'll play next season whenever he decides to announce it himself.
