The Miami Heat look like a promising team heading into the 2026-27 season. On Wednesday, the Heat took on the Brooklyn Nets to gain their third win of the preseason. So far, Miami is 3-1, with all momentum on their side as they prepare to do battle against the Orlando Magic on Friday in their last preseason game.

While it's a great sight to see the Heat dominating the preseason, what wasn't pretty to watch was Giannis Antetokounmpo's scary fall on Wednesday. During the first quarter, Antetokounmpo found himself posting up on Chaney Johnson. After getting past Johnson, Giannis attempted to posterize Mo Wagner, but ended up falling to the ground with an awkward fall instead. The Athletic's Eric Nehm reported the situation on X.

"Scary fall there for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Spun baseline, tried to dunk on Mo Wagner, but the contact from Wagner kept him from finishing," Nehm wrote. "Instead, fell to the ground awkwardly. He popped up quick, but still a bit nervy for the moment."

So far, there have been no injury reports on Antetokounmpo after Wednesday's conclusion. Heat fans don't have anything to worry about for now, as Giannis will still be expected to play in Miami's season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves next Wednesday.

Given what took place, it's likely that Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra will sit out Antetokounmpo on Friday against the Magic to preserve his energy and body for their upcoming season opener next week.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Detonates on Nets

The Miami Heat dominated the Brooklyn Nets, 144-128, on Wednesday. It was a huge game for Giannis Antetokounmpo, as he put up an explosive double-double performance in only 23 minutes of play.

Giannis showed Heat fans what it meant to be dubbed the 'Greek Freak'. He put up 20 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists, three blocks, and one steal. The regular season hasn't begun yet, and Antetokounmpo is out here making a statement for South Beach.

Helping Giannis secure the victory was Andrew Wiggins, who added 19 points, six rebounds, one steal, and one block. It seems that their tandem is a good mix even without Bam Adebayo in the lineup. What more if Bam played?

Trying to fend off the Heat for the Nets was Michael Porter Jr. The small forward did everything he could to keep up with Antetokounmpo and Wiggins' relentless offensive assault. Porter Jr. scored 27 points in 27 minutes.

The Nets' newest addition, Julius Randle, also tried his hand in helping MPJ fight back against the Heat. Randle posted 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

Despite losing on Wednesday, it was still a fruitful preseason for the Nets. Before the loss, Brooklyn was 3-0, putting the Eastern Conference on notice about what they're also capable of doing this coming season.
