Terrance “Doc” Martin is a former college basketball player that brings over 15 years of NBA experience to the BasketballNews.com team. His NBA experience ranges from the NBA D-League (now G League) to NBA front offices.

During his tenure with the New Orleans Pelicans under the guidance of Monty Williams, Doc served as a collegiate scout and Director of Player Programs/Player Development Coach from 2010-2018. Doc’s primary responsibilities included identifying and evaluating players, while providing results and analysis to assist in developing and improving the Pelicans' roster. Doc was also responsible for developing individual and team-based curriculum, complete with schedule, topics and required players based on the specific needs. In the previous three years, Doc worked alongside Kevin Pritchard and Chad Buchanan with the Portland Trail Blazers as their east coast collegiate and pro scout. Doc was responsible for contributing to the preparation of the team's Mid-Season Review and NBA Draft guide.

In addition to his experience as an NBA scout, Doc has spent time as an assistant coach on the summer league teams for San Antonio, Portland and New Orleans. Professionally, he excelled in his career with NBA players, including Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Roy, Nicolas Batum, Dante Cunningham, Rajon Rondo, DeMarcus Cousins and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Doc graduated from the University of Alabama in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and minor in political science. He was also a four-year letter winner on the Crimson Tide basketball team.
