The trade comes just two days after rumors started circulating about the Wizards pursuing Young when he and the Hawks were working on a trade out of the franchise.
The 27-year-old Young, a 4-time all-star with the Hawks, now moves on to the nation&rsquo;s capital in Washington to continue his basketball journey in his preferred destination.
The Hawks will receive McCollum, who is on an expiring contract for financial flexibility to use for future trades, as well as being a great veteran that fits the team&rsquo;s playstyle. They will also receive Kispert, a nice connecting piece with shooting to put alongside Jalen Johnson.
ANALYSIS: For the Hawks, this ushers in the new era for the franchise by moving away from their franchise piece for 8 years in Young.
