“Leave Them Alone”: Ex-NBA All-Star Warns Enes Kanter of Crossing the Line After Clash With Natasha Cloud

Enes Kanter Freedom is currently playing with fire after getting into a heated argument with Chicago Sky star Natasha Cloud. Freedom is currently fighting for the rights of transgender and male players who want to enter the WNBA. He believes that those who identify as women should be eligible to participate in the draft. This clearly bothered many WNBA players, including Cloud, which is evident in her aggressiveness towards Freedom on Sunday when the Sky faced the Indiana Fever.

Former NBA star Kenyon Martin recently shared his thoughts on the matter. Martin uploaded a video to Instagram discussing the ongoing dispute between the two parties. While Martin was initially on board with Freedom's sentiments, harassing women is crossing the line. He believes that Freedom has overstepped and is doing too much at this point.

"Enes Kanter, initially people were rocking with the point that you were trying to make," Martin noted. "Harassing (WNBA players) at the game, you know it's a sensitive topic for them; it was a little much, my brother. It was a little much and uncalled for."

Martin then mentioned how impactful Freedom's words were initially when he announced his intent to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft.

"You are a voice now of certain things," Martin added. "People tend to pay attention now because of the statement you made initially, declaring for the WNBA Draft ... Let's not make a mockery of the WNBA, man. Let's not make a mockery of the trans community. Those are people, man. They have family, they have lives, they have loved ones, and they deserve your utmost respect."

However, it seems that Freedom doesn't care what other people think of him. In a recent interview with Fox Sports, Freedom doubled down on his intention to still declare for the draft despite the WNBA explicitly not allowing him to enter next year.

"Listen, Article 13, Section 1 says if you identify as a woman, then you are allowed to play. I identify as a woman, so yes, I can play," Freedom said in an interview reposted by BrickCenter on X. "That's the rules that (the WNBA) put. I'm just following the rules. If they ever come out and say, 'Okay, we are changing the rules.' I'll respect their decision. I will follow the rules. But right now, if you identify as a woman, you're allowed to play. I am a woman. I should be allowed to play. See?"

It's going to be a long battle between Freedom and the WNBA until the league finally changes the exact wording of its rules and guidelines.

Former NBA Champion Calls Out Enes Kanter Freedom

It appears that Enes Kanter Freedom's actions towards the WNBA have significantly affected the entire basketball community. Aside from Kenyon Martin, another former NBA player called out Freedom for his shenanigans.

Stephen Jackson also went on Instagram to directly address Freedom. He called him out for disrespecting women's sports and finds it bizarre that men would even bother to invade their personal space.

"Man, y'all got to stop the clown s**t," Jackson said in a video he uploaded on Instagram. "I got daughters. ... There's no woman that could play in the NBA, bro. ... A man should not belong in no woman's sports. ... Y'all are making no sense. Y'all are trying to make it about Enes Kanter? ... I don't understand what the problem is with him. ... Y'all want to accept grown men with balls playing women's sports and just accept that he's a woman? No, man. I got daughters. Other fathers with daughters agree with me. You don't want any man in women's sports. This is clown s**t."
