Kristaps Porzingis’ Whereabouts Reportedly Revealed Amid Concerning Insider’s Update

On Oct. 19, Steve Kerr said the Warriors weren't planning to have Kristaps Porzingis travel with the team because of his health. Nine days later, a dentist's Instagram photo placed the center in Spain, and Golden State fans noticed. It landed the same day ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported just how bleak things have become between Porzingis and the team.

According to Slater, team sources express “an extreme level of pessimism” that Porzingis will ever play for the Warriors again. The team has also changed his official status from “general illness” to “not with team,” a deliberate move. As Slater put it, his time away “can no longer be described as an excused absence.”

The post came from Bruno Pereira, a cosmetic dentist based in Marbella, Spain, who shared a photo with Porzingis on Wednesday.

“Always a pleasure to treat a champion,” the caption read. “Great having @kporzee in the chair – NBA champion, gentleman, and proof that big smiles come in big sizes.”

A trip to the dentist doesn't tell anyone anything about his health, and the Warriors have not released a statement on it. However, the timing couldn't be worse.

Porzingis has not played this season. He missed Media Day, training camp, and the entire preseason. He met with the team in mid-October, and the Warriors said he’d be around. That didn’t last. Only general manager Mike Dunleavy and medical chief Rick Celebrini have been in contact with him, and Kerr has stopped engaging with questions about him.

The Warriors re-signed Porzingis to a two-year, $40 million deal in late June, after he averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 15 games for them last season. They built in protection: only $3 million of the $20 million in the second season is guaranteed.

That gives the contract some trade value. According to Slater, the Warriors are “showing a willingness to remain patient with the Porzingis contract and let the market materialize.” The team has even talked internally about whether skipping work could let them void his contract, though that wouldn’t be easy.

Kristaps Porzingis Pushes Back on Online Speculation About His Health

Porzingis already addressed the speculation. In an earlier post, he wrote: "Hello people, I'm working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I'm getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I'll be feeling great again soon."

He described the frustration of "dealing with some health stuff that you can't exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career," and added: "Health is wealth."

He followed up with a more pointed message about the guessing online. "I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I'm in the best hands. So everyone can relax now and I don't have hiv or aids," he wrote.

The blunt line suggested that he saw the speculation as getting out of hand.

Porzingis, 31, said in 2025 that he’d been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS, a nervous system disorder that affects heart rate and blood flow. Neither he nor the Warriors have said whether that’s what’s keeping him out now. He has missed 90 games over the past two seasons, and ESPN reports he is now contemplating his basketball future.

For now, the Warriors are moving on without him. The photo in Spain, though, doesn't say anything about his future or health, it definitely adds to the frustration.
