“Did You Not Repeat?”: Tyrese Haliburton Reminds LeBron James of His Own Championship Feat

The most coveted award in the NBA is none other than the championship. Every year, teams strive to improve and, hopefully, get a shot at playing for the title. While we've seen many different teams win championships, only very few have managed to win several straight titles, let alone go back-to-back.

LeBron James and Tyrese Haliburton recently appeared at Fanatics Fest NYC. The two NBA stars briefly discussed which team last went back-to-back in the Finals. Based on James' recollection, he thought that it was the 2009 and 2010 Los Angeles Lakers that last accomplished the feat.

"It hasn’t been a repeat since what, ‘09-‘10 with the Lakers? Kobe and Pau. They won both back-to-back," James said.

Haliburton then questioned James and asked if he forgot about going back-to-back in his career.

"Did you not repeat?" Haliburton asked.

LeBron was part of the Miami Heat's historic run with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The 'Heatles' won their first title in 2012, then repeated in 2013.

"Oh s**t! I did repeat," James remembered after Haliburton's reminder. "I forgot about myself. I wasn't even thinking about myself."

While LeBron forgot about himself, Tyrese must've also forgotten that the last team to accomplish a repeat was the Golden State Warriors.

The Dubs went back-to-back in 2017 and 2018 during the Kevin Durant era. Golden State dethroned James' Cleveland Cavaliers.

Heat Media Team Allegedly Leaked LeBron James' Return

There have been many rumors and speculations about LeBron James returning to the Miami Heat. While four other teams, such as the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Golden State Warriors, are a good fit for James, many analysts and insiders have predicted that the Heat is his likely destination.

Apparently, a prominent NBA and WNBA Statistics page on X, Polymarket Hoops, uploaded screenshots of LeBron's press conference with the Heat.

According to the post, one of Miami's media team accidentally made the schedule post go public for a brief moment before quickly unlisting it and making it private.

Based on the rumors, the King is expected to make his decision by late July. Looking at the screenshot of the scheduled YouTube video, the press conference was dated July 27, 2026. The calendar lines up with the rumors.

Polymarket Hoops also uploaded another screenshot with a caption that reads:

"Introductory Press conference for LeBron James welcoming him back as a member of the Miami Heat."

Readers should take this with a grain of salt. While the source could be credible, we're not entirely sure if their screenshots were legitimate. It could turn out to be a doctored photo to stir up some buzz on social media.

Whatever the case may be, all we can do for now is wait for LeBron to make his decision.
