Brandin Podziemski became the target of social media jokes after the Golden State Warriors played the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. The young guard caught fans’ attention because he appeared to copy a habit that many fans associate with the team's star Guard, Stephen Curry.

Curry often chews on his mouthguard during games while a part of it dangles outside his mouth. This habit has become one of his most famous mannerisms over the years.

During the Warriors’ preseason game against the Lakers, Podziemski appeared to do something similar. This led fans to wonder if he was copying his experienced teammate.

A clip of him doing that soon spread across social media, and fans quickly noticed the similarities. Some fans even said Podziemski was copying more than Curry’s mouthguard habit.

They also pointed to his movements, walking style, and other mannerisms as the video went viral on X.

One fan wrote, "Even his mannerisms are just like Steph now. Very cringe."

Another fan first thought someone had made the clip as a joke. However, after watching Podziemski’s actions, the fan felt that the comparison was real.

The fan commented, "Thought you were trolling, but he dead*** copied his mannerisms."

Some fans also talked about Podziemski’s walking style and body language, which they felt looked similar to Curry’s.

The fan wrote, "Walking with his head down and everything."

Another seconded the sentiment, writing, "Bro tryna imitate Steph walking with his head down."

The jokes continued as another fan suggested that Podziemski looked like his face had been edited onto a Stephen Curry clip.

The fan wrote, "Look like Steph with Podz AI over it."

Another likened it to a game-like clip, adding, "Its like those hooping videos where they do impersonations of Steph. This is too weird!!!!!!!!!! Spamming Steph emotes is weird."

Podziemski’s hairstyle also became part of the discussion. Some fans felt that his similarities with Curry went beyond the mouthguard habit. They also noticed that the two players had similar haircuts.

The fan commented, "Same haircut too."

Podziemski’s admiration for Curry is not new. He has previously spoken about wanting to learn everything from the Warriors superstar, while Curry has also mentored the young guard, once likening Podziemski to "the annoying little brother who asks questions all the time."

Their close connection makes the latest comparison even more interesting. But while fans talked about Brandin Podziemski copying Curry’s mannerisms, the Warriors enjoyed a good night on the court. Golden State beat the Lakers 101-89 in their penultimate preseason game.

Podziemski scored a team-high 17 points, six more than Steph, made two assists, and recorded one steal in 26 minutes. He went 6-of-12 from the field, including three threes.
